Chisinau, 9 November 2018-The Romanian Development Cooperation Agency (RoAid) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) will receive medical equipment and cervical cancer prevention services in the Republic of Moldova. An agreement on cooperation in this area was signed between these two organizations, and this summer, after the equipment is delivered to the Republic of Moldova, at the beginning of 2019.
RoAid in order to offer its financial contribution-about 21,000 US dollars for the purchase of a lot of high-quality equipment, among which are laboratory instruments and microscopes accessories (purposes), which are used to study cytological smears, and on simulators, for the treatment of gynecological diseases and for demonstration, and practice various procedures, obstetric and surgical procedures. gynecological, which will be used, among other things, to form practical skills for examining the cervix and taking a smear smear.
“RoAid assistance complements national efforts aimed at preventing the development of cervical cancer, which are aimed at improving the availability and quality of services, screening for cervical cancer, and informing the public. Statistics show that almost every day in our republic women are diagnosed with cervical cancer, and every three days one woman dies from this disease. Cervical cancer can be prevented by a screening test, cervical cancer, performed once every three years for women between the ages of 25 and 61.
