Today, within the Department of Specialized Outpatient Medical Assistance of the Institute of Mother and Child, a meeting was held with representatives of Health Centers from different regions of the country, focused on the evolution of screening services and current priorities in cervical cancer prevention.
The discussions aimed to strengthen the knowledge of medical workers about cervical cancer prevention, in line with the objectives of the World Health Organization and recent provisions of national legislation.
The event was organized by the Cervical Screening Coordination Unit within the Institute of Mother and Child, with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova, the National Health Insurance Company and the National Agency for Public Health.
The following were discussed during the meeting:

the evolution of cervical screening and the functioning of the National Colposcopy Network

cervical screening service coverage rate in 2024

elements of the National Cancer Control Program, including vaccination, cytological testing and access to treatment

the impact of the program on early detection of cervical cancer

the situation of anti-HPV vaccination in the districts included in the National Colposcopy Network
-
directions for improving prevention mechanisms
The meeting provided the necessary framework for aligning actions and updating the priorities of institutions involved in the prevention and early detection of cervical cancer.
